The Bookseller – News – Heartwood Publishing moves from GBS to BookSource

Travel publisher Heartwood Publishing will move its distribution from Grantham Book Services (GBS) to BookSource starting October 1, 2024, ahead of the conversion of its Grantham warehouse into a new operations center for Penguin Random House US next year.

All orders should continue to be sent to Grantham Book Services through September 30, 2024, and customers should “make payments for invoices due to the original distributor.”

Authorized returns for orders placed before September 30th that need to be processed by December 30th should be received by GBS no later than December 13th, as the retailer will not process returns after this date.

“The approachable team at BookSource made a strong impression and I know they and GBS will work together to ensure a seamless transition,” said Andy Riddle, Managing Director of Heartwood Publishing. “The passion, enthusiasm and expertise of the book distribution directors at BookSource made the decision-making process straightforward. I know our list is in safe hands. I want to thank the team at GBS for their care over the years and wish them the best for the future.”

Davinder Bedi, Managing Director of BookSource, added: “I am delighted to welcome the Heartwood team to the BookSource family and look forward to further strengthening our relationship. Changing distribution is not an easy decision for any publisher, but I am pleased that we have demonstrated that the BookSource team is focused on providing an unrivalled distribution service.”
Beginning October 1, 2024, all orders should be sent directly to BookSource at [email protected], through Pubeasy, or by calling the distributor.
