Pinterest’s Fall 2024 Home Trends Revealed

The desire to create a calm and peaceful living space is the biggest theme emerging from Pinterest’s Fall 2024 trend report, with searches for calm tones (blues and greens) and Japanese interiors increasing.

Here are the trends on Pinterest in the interior design sector…

Calm colors

Our love for green is eternal. This versatile, nature-inspired shade connects us to the outside world and has the ability to calm and soothe, making it the perfect shade for the home. Another nature-inspired color, blue is very popular for its versatility and universal appeal. Light shades are calm and serene, while darker shades add depth and make a space feel cozy and inviting.

Harmonious Japanese style

While Japandi, an aesthetic that combines two of the world’s leading minimalism styles (Japan and Scandinavia), continues to influence interior design, it is actually the Japanese style that has emerged as the frontrunner, according to new search data on the visual discovery platform.

Japanese interiors are inviting and timeless, with designs focused on slow living, comfort and well-being. There is a natural warmth, with an emphasis on organic, nature-inspired colors and materials. Shapes and lines are clean and minimalist, with simple, low-profile furniture that is both functional and calming. Think wood, glass, ceramics, natural stones and soft, rich fabrics in neutral colors. The Japanese philosophy of “wabi sabi” also reflects a deep appreciation for simplicity.
