Stock exchange LIVE on Tuesday, August 20, 2024: Benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 could start positively on Tuesday on strong global cues.
At 8:40 am, GIFT Nifty futures were at 24,632, indicating a positive start to the trading day.
Asian markets were trading briskly, followed by Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei led with a gain of 1.24 percent, followed by South Korea’s Kospi with a gain of 0.52 percent on Tuesday morning.
On Monday night, the major Wall Street indices in the US continued their winning streak for the 18th consecutive day, setting their longest weekly percentage gain of 2024.
On Monday, the Nasdaq Composite closed 1.39 percent higher. The broader S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed with gains of 0.97 percent and 0.58 percent, respectively.
Stocks to keep an eye on
Zomato: Antfin Singapore, which currently holds a 4.24 percent stake in Zomato, is likely to offload a 1.54 percent stake in Zomato through a block deal, according to media reports. According to the reports, the floor price of the block deal is likely to be Rs 251.68 per unit.
Tata Motors: The Company has designated Sunday, September 1, 2024, as the “Record Date” for determining the names of the holders of Class “A” common stock entitled to receive the Consideration.
IndusInd Bank: According to information available on the stock exchanges, the Reserve Bank of India has approved the Bank to set up a wholly owned subsidiary to take over the asset management business of mutual funds and to inject equity capital into the said asset management subsidiary.
Nucleus Software: The Company has announced that its Board of Directors meeting will be held on August 22, 2024 to consider the proposal to repurchase shares of the Company’s common stock.
Stock exchange listing: Shares of Saraswati Saree Depot IPO will be listed on BSE and NSE today.
