Alaska Airlines will soon be using its luxury partner on a long-haul flight. The airline will be offering a connection from Seattle to Taipei three times a week with Starlux Airlines.

In addition to San Francisco and Los Angeles, Seattle is also represented on Starlux routes from Taipei.

“Starlux offers an industry-leading product with great inflight service and access to a number of dream destinations across Asia. With Starlux’s arrival in Seattle, 13 of our global partners now serve our home hub, from which we offer more daily flights and destinations than any other West Coast airline,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of Alaska Airlines.

On days when the flight is offered, the new nonstop flight from Seattle will arrive in Taipei early in the morning, allowing for better connections to other flights throughout Asia. The nonstop flight will leave Taipei in the evening and arrive in Seattle in the afternoon.

Glenn Chai, CEO of Starlux, said: “Seattle is not only our newest destination, but also a critical milestone in our expansion strategy in the US. Thanks to our valued partner Alaska Airlines, we will be able to connect passengers from over 100 US cities to the Asia-Pacific region via the West Coast for the first time. We are excited to bridge continents, expand travel options and provide exceptional service to our customers.”

Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle are gateway airports for Alaska Airlines.

Alaska recently reached a tentative agreement with its flight attendants.
