WWE’s CM Punk responds to the idea that he is a “locker room cancer”

Throughout his career, WWE star CM Punk has been a controversial figure both on screen and in private. Regardless of whether he is viewed positively or negatively, Punk has always responded to the comments of his critics. Over the weekend during Fanatics Fest in New York City, Punk voiced his current reaction to those who previously called him a “locker room cancer” on a live episode of “The Masked Man Show.”

“That’s all bullshit,” Punk said. “None of that is reality. ‘Oh, he’s a cancer.’ Listen, not everybody is nice to me. I treat you accordingly. If you’re a piece of shit and you act like that to me, I’m going to treat you like that. If you’re nice and you smile and you want to have fun, then let’s have fun. I’m all in love.”

In recent years, it has been claimed by prominent wrestling figures such as Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho that Punk is a cancer on the wrestling locker room. In response, Punk says that certain people like to spread these lies and stoke the fires of negativity surrounding the Second City Saint.

“They can’t control me, and they can’t control what I do and what I say,” Punk said. “They absolutely can’t stand that, so they try to control how other people think about me or see me. They have to make their own judgments and draw their own conclusions.”

Punk’s controversial past has been a major part of his character in WWE since his return last November. Since then, the likes of Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins have revealed real issues with Punk to fuel their on-screen feuds.
