Death in a mountain resort: Investigators in Big Bear suspect murder

BIG BEAR LAKE, CA — A man found dead at a Big Bear Lake resort over the weekend is being investigated for murder, but no arrests had been made as of early Monday afternoon.

On Sunday, August 18, officers from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station were called to Bear Creek Resort at approximately 7:24 a.m. 40210 Big Bear Boulevard regarding the discovery.

The victim, a Latino man, was pronounced dead at the scene with injuries consistent with homicide, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

No further identifying information about the victim has been released.

No arrests have been made in this case and the investigation is still ongoing, the sheriff’s department said.
