Brinton celebrates arts and culture at Bighorn Rendezvous IX – Sheridan Media

Brinton Museum Executive Director Kendra Heimbuck appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss the upcoming Bighorn Rendezvous IX.

The Brinton Museum invites the public to participate in its annual Bighorn Rendezvous on Saturday and Sunday, August 24-25.

Sheridan Travel & Tourism and Fighting Bear Antiques present Bighorn Rendezvous IX, a weekend of art, culture and fun.

This year’s exhibition, which has been open to the public since July 13, features new artworks from an impressive line-up of artists.

The festivities at the Brinton Museum will kick off with a quickdraw from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Heimbuck said the event is free and open to the public and an excellent opportunity for visitors to interact with the guest artists.

Visitors are also encouraged to explore the museum grounds, bring a picnic and enjoy the surrounding gardens and the shade of the large, manicured trees.

Following the quickdraw, visitors can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities until 3 p.m., including lawn games, children’s art activities, free tours of a historic ranch, live music by Carte Blanche, and a beer and wine garden.

The highlight of the weekend is the Bighorn Rendezvous Art Auction & Dinner, a ticketed event on Saturday evening. The event begins with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. for VIP ticket holders with live musical entertainment and at 6 p.m. for general ticket holders. At 6:30 p.m., the auction of 18 original Quickdraw artworks begins, followed by a buffet dinner provided by Brinton Bistro. Tickets can be purchased here.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday at 2 p.m. with a special screening by Bighorn Rendezvous IX featured artist Joel Ostlind at the Jacomien Mars Gallery. The screening is free and open to the public. Heimbuck said Ostlind will demonstrate the process of preparing an intaglio plate for printing.
