On Wednesday, August 14, John Mark Parkhurst passed away suddenly at 10:45 p.m. in Hamilton, Michigan.
John was born on November 20, 1961 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is survived by his fiancée, Kathy Rewalt of Allegan, Michigan, his son Joe of Arizona, his stepchildren Austin Rewalt and Amber Birmingham, his brother Jim, his sisters Sheri, Kathy and Debbie, and several nieces and nephews.
His daughter Hannah, his son Nickolas and his brother David died before him.
John graduated from Allegan High School in the best graduating class ever – the class of 1980!
John enjoyed working for a company called Challenge for the last 10 years. His favorite pastimes were his Jeep, his motorcycle, paddle boarding, and spending time on his boat with his beloved fiancée and his constant companions, his beautiful English Cream Retrievers Dougie and Bailey. John could also be seen every year during the fair working behind the scenes on the sound mixer for the stage shows he loved. For many years, as a young child, John loved and owned several horses. John was a gem! There was nothing he wouldn’t do for you, or at least try to do. When it came to helping someone, listening to them, or giving advice, you could always count on John! He had a big heart and it showed in everything he did! John was loved and we will miss him!
Viewing will be possible on Tuesday, August 20th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by a service at 12:00 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan, Michigan.
A luncheon and celebration of John’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Eagles in Allegan.
