Melbourne brings rocks to save Pineapple Avenue and FPL power pole

Some would say this project was amazing, at least in terms of the speed with which it was implemented, but Melbourne had to take the hard route in an emergency – not the most environmentally friendly – to save a power pole and a section of Pineapple Avenue.

The City recently completed a $451,265 project to stabilize the 137-yard Pineapple Avenue embankment along the Indian River Lagoon, just north of Hiawatha Street. The City paid 100% of the cost.
