Shocking update on Michigan State basketball’s Big Ten betting odds

Shocking update on Michigan State basketball’s Big Ten betting odds

I never would have thought that this season, let alone in mid-August, but Michigan State basketball is officially the favorite to win the Big Ten this season.

Now, before you start booking your trip to the 2025 Final Four, we should pump the brakes a bit. First, it’s only August, so it would be ridiculous to crown this team champions at this point.

Additionally, many college basketball experts and analysts don’t see Michigan State winning the Big Ten this season. Most that I’ve seen have MSU in the 4-6 range, which is probably more realistic.

But for unknown reasons, Michigan State is currently the favorite to win the Big Ten at Caesar’s Sportsbook. I also did a little research and found another bookmaker with posted odds, and there Michigan State has the second-best odds to win the conference behind UCLA.

So what’s going on? Where did all this hype about Michigan State suddenly come from?

Perhaps the bookies saw Michigan State dominating the Valencia All-Stars on Sunday. Sure, it was just a friendly match, but a 105-59 win against professionals is sure to turn heads.

Other than that, there is no concrete evidence. Maybe the bookies are just confident that Tom Izzo will do it this season? He has done it many times before, so that would be a safe assumption.

Regardless, I wouldn’t go to those sportsbooks and bet on Michigan State to win the conference if I were you, especially considering you can probably find better odds elsewhere.

But we can only hope that these bookies know something we don’t, and that Michigan State is actually competing for a Big Ten title this winter.
