Southwest’s 25% off sale ends tonight – here’s the promo code

Southwest Airlines offers a special discount code to Rapid Rewards members who redeem points for their next flight.

The sale, which ends today, August 19, at 11:59 p.m. PT, offers up to 25 percent off travel between September 4 and December 10, according to the airline. Travelers must enter the promo code “SAVE25NOW” when searching for flights on Southwest’s website.

However, the promo code is not valid on all Southwest flights, as flights between the islands of Hawaii and Orange County are specifically excluded from this offer. In addition, there are several blackout dates for this offer:

• Flights within the United States are valid every weekday except October 14, November 22-27, and November 29-December 2.
• Flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico and international destinations are valid Sunday through Wednesday, excluding November 21-25.
• Flights from Hawaii, Puerto Rico and international destinations are valid Tuesday through Friday, excluding November 29 through December 3.

When the discount code is successfully applied, a green banner will appear on the screen with the text “Hit! The promo code SAVE25NOW has been applied. Enjoy your additional savings below!” In addition, all one-way domestic tickets are subject to taxes and fees of $5.60, while round-trip tickets are subject to taxes and fees of $11.20.

• Nashville (BNA) to/from New York (LGA): 3,178 points (reduced from 4,238 points)
• Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to/from San Juan (SJU): 3,735 points (reduced from 4,669 points)
• Atlanta (ATL) to/from Philadelphia (PHL): 5,010 points (reduced from 6,263 points)
• Denver (DEN) to/from Chicago (MDW): 4,336 points (reduced from 4,336 points)
• Phoenix (PHX) to/from Honolulu (HNL): 16,340 points (reduced from 21,786 points)

Southwest’s new Point + Cash redemption option is not eligible for sale, so travelers should make sure they have enough Rapid Rewards points ready before paying. The airline is also selling Rapid Rewards points at up to 50 percent off through tonight, bringing the price per point down to 1.5 cents each.
