“Why are brothers like this?” the woman wrote on X (formerly Twitter) while sharing screenshots of the marriage profile her brother had created as a Raksha Bandhan gift.
Raksha Bandhan is celebrated today, August 19, to honor the special bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters traditionally tie a rakhi on their brothers’ wrists and promise to protect them throughout their lives. Siblings also exchange gifts to make the day special. Since the festival is celebrated today, many shared the rakhi gifts they received from their brothers. However, instead of the usual gifts, one brother did something different. When his sister asked what he would gift her on Raksha Bandhan, he simply created her profile on a matchmaking site as a gift.
“Why are brothers like this? I asked my brother what to gift me for Raksha Bandhan and he created my profile on Jeevansathi.com!” wrote Rashi Pandey while sharing screenshots of her profile on the matchmaking site.

The biography on the platform reads: “She is a good girl, please koi jaldi leke jao hamare ghar se taki main iske room mein apna home-gym bana paun. Also, she has graduated from IIM, at least (“She is a good girl, so someone please get her out of our house quickly so I can turn her room into my gym. Also, she graduated from IIM, so keep that in mind.”)
The screenshot also mentions that the profile was created by her sibling.
