There are many urban legends about being stopped. One big myth is that red cars are always the most stopped cars. Fun fact: That’s not true. Today we’re looking at the most stopped cars in the United States. While these statistics don’t fully confirm a preference for car colors, they do give us some insight into the rumors.
Although the numbers are generalized, they provide a good source for these types of lists.

We looked at these websites for our numbers.
Edmunds surveyed three police departments and two traffic departments, and they reported five ways you can easily get stopped:
– Speeding
– Distractions while driving/talking on the phone
-Dangerous driving, such as ignoring stop signs, illegal turns and ignoring right of way
-Violations of equipment, such as tinted windows, expired license plates and loud exhaust systems
-Driving too close to other vehicles and improper lane changing
When determining these figures, they paid attention to the following things, among others.
Studies suggest that unconscious bias can influence the frequency of traffic tickets. Demographic factors play a role, but drivers’ experience also plays a role. Younger drivers are more likely to commit traffic violations because they are less familiar with the rules of the road or have less experience with difficult driving situations.

According to Kelley Blue Book, white is the most popular color for almost all types of cars.
It’s really just a numbers game and not the color of a sports car. Remember, your risk of being pulled over depends much more on your driving behavior than the make and model of your car.
