Following positive signs from the US and Asian markets, India’s leading indices Sensex and Nifty could open higher today.
The benchmark indices like Sensex and Nifty could open higher today (August 19, 2024) as global manufacturers have shown positive signals. Asia-Pacific markets like the Shanghai Composite in China rose 0.07 percent, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong rose 1.88 percent and the Asian Dow rose 0.21 percent.
But the Japanese Nikkei was down 0.35 percent, the South Korean Kospi also lost 0.44 percent and the Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.07 percent.
In US markets, the S&P 500 rose 0.20 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.24 percent, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.21 percent.
