I tried this powerful blender and all I can say is that it is the perfect Father’s Day gift.

I tried this powerful blender and all I can say is that it is the perfect Father’s Day gift.

I pride myself on being a good gift giver. It’s like a sixth sense I have. No matter who the recipient is, I have a knack for finding the perfect gift that will make them squeal with delight.

Seriously, I once gave my foodie friend a personalized cookbook with every dish we ever cooked – in college. She couldn’t stop laughing. From the elevated “cup of noodles” to the “toast 10 ways,” it’s her favorite dish and is proudly displayed on her kitchen counter.

Now that Father’s Day is just around the corner, I’ve found the most powerful tool to gift my dad. It’s (surprisingly) missing from his tool belt and, like him, is a jack of all trades. It’s the Vitamix E310 Explorian Blender.

I recently tested this very hyped – and I admit, expensive – blender. I tried it out skeptically. And wow, it did not disappoint.

When I first unpacked it, I noticed that its specialty was its ease of use. The blender consisted of three simple parts: a sleek white base, a snap-lock container and a tamper. Along with some instruction manuals, that was it.

After admiring the most beautiful thing my countertop has ever seen—how handy is an under-counter cord organizer to keep unsightly cords under wraps?—I got ready to try it out.

Being a smoothie fan, I prepared my ingredients. I remembered David Beckham once promoting a popular grocery chain’s strawberry banana smoothie and thought I’d give it a try. It seemed simple enough. And if it was good enough for Becks, it was good enough for me.

Using the Vitamix’s easy-to-use controls, I loaded the containers in the order suggested in the manual: liquids, soft fruits, vegetables, and then ice and frozen ingredients.

I put the lid on, turned it on, and slowly cranked it up to the highest speed. IT WAS SO POWERFUL!

Within seconds – yes SECONDS – the Vitamix blender effortlessly transformed my ingredients into a creamy, beautiful smoothie.

And the consistency was flawless – no lumps, no chunks, just pure deliciousness.

The blender also makes cleaning up (which is often dreaded) a breeze. Simply add some water with a drop of washing-up liquid, put the lid back on and blend on the highest setting to give your new favorite appliance a personal bubble bath. Rinse it off and voila! Shiny and new – and ready for your next mix.

The only downside? The first mixture may smell a little like something is burning. But the manual says that this is normal and “dissipates quickly.” It’s just the powerful engine being primed.

Final thoughts? Dad might have to get his own appliance because it looks too cute on my countertop! Just kidding. This powerful kitchen appliance will soon help me secure my (rightful) place as the favorite child.

If you want to please your dad, get this cheaper Vitamix (MSRP $699) that is just as powerful and durable as its $1,000+ counterparts:
