Meghan Markle sparkled in green as Prince Harry was presented with a gift on stage during the final stop of the couple’s “quasi-royal” Colombia tour.

The 39-year-old Duke and 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex were greeted by the country’s Vice President Francia Marquez and her husband Rafael Yerney Pinillo upon their arrival on Thursday.

After enjoying a very hot salsa dance together on Saturday, Harry and Meghan jumped on stage and thanked the guests for their “warm welcome”.

Meghan’s effortless beauty was on display in a printed strapless maxi dress as she spoke to the crowd in Spanish while her husband, dressed in navy trousers and a blue shirt, gratefully accepted a musical instrument.

An Instagram post on the Petronio Álvarez Festival account said Meghan and Harry were in “#Petrionio2024 mode” as the loud crowd cheered them on.

“We are a reference for the world, a meeting point and a mandatory stop for locals and tourists. Proud of how our Pacifica culture falls in love!”

In a separate post, Colombian politician Alejandro Eder, who accompanied the Sussexes on stage, shared a photo of them with him and his wife, actress Taliana Vargas.

“What do you think of this visit by Dukes Harry and Meghan to #Petronio2024? What a joy that the world is watching us! #CaliEsDondeDebesEstar,” Eder wrote.

Beaming, the couple set off on Saturday for the historic city of Cartagena and the traditional Afro-Caribbean village of San Basilio de Palenque.

There, they were spotted performing a hot salsa dance, hugging and touching each other as they twirled around the dance floor.

Looking chic as ever in her white linen skirt, which she paired with Princess Diana’s gold Tank Française watch worth £17,800 (approximately $23,000), Meghan reached out to grab Harry’s face and give him a kiss on the lips.

But the happily in love couple managed to keep their hands off each other long enough to dance with the locals.

The Duchess danced with a Colombian man in a white T-shirt before being spun and dunked by another woman in the middle of the room.

Meghan, who thankfully swapped her high heels for black sandals, laughed and smiled as she swayed to the music.

Prince Harry looked smart in his airy light blue linen shirt, which he paired with cream trousers and brown shoes.

In the run-up to her arrival, some locals expressed hope that Harry would use the visit to apologize for the British Crown’s role in the colonial slave trade.

The Duke of Sussex has previously spoken about the “unjust” system in which “enslaved people” generated wealth for the crown.

However, he did not apologize for his family’s role in this system of oppression.

Harry and Meghan held hands as they walked through the village square, where stalls selling traditional crafts were set up, while they chatted animatedly with onlookers.

The village was founded almost 300 years ago by freed African slaves and is described as a “little corner of Africa”.

For Meghan, this stay was particularly significant because she said during her visit to Nigeria in May that she was “43 percent Nigerian.”

On the last day of her pseudo-royal tour, Meghan spoke at the “Afro Women and Power” conference in California.

She proudly told her favorite story about how, at the age of 11, she wrote to Procter & Gamble and asked the brand to change its sexist soap commercial.

The Duchess also paid tribute to her mother and raved about her three-year-old daughter Lilibet.

“(I) encourage our daughter (…) at the age of three she has found her voice and we are so proud of that,” she said.

“I find inspiration in so many strong women around me. My mother is one of them. Life is full of surprises and can be quite complex.”

Meghan began her speech at the debate in Spanish, calling Ms Marquesa “my friend” before paying tribute to Harry in English.

Amidst great cheers, she said: “I want to start in Spanish because we are in your country, my husband and I, and I can feel this embrace from Colombia.”

“It’s incredible, thank you so much, because the culture, the history, everything was like a dream on this trip.”

“I’m sorry if my Spanish is not perfect because I learned it 20 years ago in Argentina, but I teach it here because I can feel this community and this feeling that is the best in the world.”

She added: “So thank you to the Vice President, my friend, thank you very much.”

Meghan notably failed to mention the Princess of Wales and the late Queen Elizabeth in her speech, despite having praised both royal ladies in the past.
