The premium business magazine has seen four consecutive quarters of growth in Total News Publishing’s readership. The print edition of Financial report in the last four weeks.

The strength of the Financial Review’s digital offering is underlined by the fact that 78% of AFR readers use the magazine’s online publication, which has grown again since last quarter – the fourth consecutive quarter of online growth.

The Monday-Friday print edition saw year-on-year growth of 9%, reaching an average readership of 268,000, while the AFR’s weekend print edition with Saturday edition saw quarterly growth, reaching a readership of 182,000.

The Australian Financial Review Magazine continues to dominate Australia’s monthly magazine supplement numbers with a readership of 500,000 – compared to its direct competitor Wish, whose readership fell 20% year-on-year. Fin! Magazine also reported quarterly and year-on-year growth (8% and 10% respectively).

Editor-in-chief James Chessell said: “These results reflect the high quality and award-winning journalism of the Australian Financial Review. As we focus on growing our subscriber base, our digital strategy continues to go from strength to strength, as evidenced by nearly 80% of our readers using our websites.”

Nine’s total publishing resources reach a duplicated audience of 16.02 million* Australians in both print and digital.
