Couple says they were “completely unprepared” for staying in a glass hotel room: “Completely defenseless”

Travel content creators Margaret and Corey Bienert shared footage on TikTok of their experience in the unconventional room of the Paradiso Hotel in Ibiza

An adventurous couple spent the night in a glass-walled hotel room in Ibiza – but said they were completely “unprepared” for the unconventional experience.

In a video shared on the TikTok account “A Pretty Cool Hotel Tour,” Margaret Bienert explained the avant-garde room decor and showed footage of her and her husband Corey Bienert from their stay at the Paradiso Hotel a few years ago.

“When I say glass hotel room, I mean a literally glass box in the lobby of the hotel. We were totally unprepared for this experience,” she said, before going on to say that she had little idea what to expect when they arrived.

“All I knew was that you could get one night free when you booked. I thought the idea was so fun that of course I wanted to try it out,” Margaret continued.

In the video footage, Margaret and Corey are seen lying in bed in the room while other hotel guests were walking around and hanging out in the lobby around the glass room.

The couple quickly discovered some less than ideal features of the room. “We realized that the lights are never turned off and you’re basically on display all night long,” Margaret said, while video showed a guest taking a photo of them with his phone as they tried to sleep in their room.

“Then I realized that this is an art hotel, so whoever sleeps in this room is only a part of the night,” she continued, passing on her advice to anyone who would like to spend the night in the glass room themselves.

“Here are a few ideas I wish I had prepared last time to keep the guests entertained instead of feeling completely exposed in there all evening,” Margaret said.

Her entertainment ideas included performing the entire setlist of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour,” doing a live painting, and putting up a sign saying she would kiss anyone through the glass for $5.

“Anyway, it just feels like there’s so much room for creativity in this space – unfortunately, I was just unprepared,” she concluded the video, which has been viewed nearly 2 million times. “So I’ll have to leave it up to a future guest to do one or two of these things, so yeah, let me know if you try it.”

From the comments on the post, it was clear that very few of the couple’s followers were willing to take the chance to stay in the glass room, with many appearing to be put off by what one person described as the “dystopian” aspect of the glass room.

“I had such a nightmare,” joked someone else, and someone else expressed the same sentiment, writing, “I was screaming the whole time.”

Some viewers had pressing questions for Margaret, such as, “Does the hotel have restrictions on what you can’t do in the room?”, to which she replied, “You know, we weren’t given any rules. And it’s an adults-only hotel 🤷‍♀️.”

In a follow-up video, Margaret addressed other frequently asked questions and assured her followers that a stay in the glass room comes with a private bathroom – complete with shower and toilet.

She also clarified that the room was not completely soundproof, so the other guests could not only hear her and Corey in their room, but also all the noise from the lobby inside.

“So you definitely need earplugs, an eye mask, all that,” Margaret recommended.
