MJF remembers growing up as a fan of John Cena

– In a recent interview with WrestleTalk, AEW American Champion MJF talked about growing up as a huge fan of John Cena. Here are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

MJF on Cena: “John Cena was a douchebag on my wall when he was rapping, and then he stopped rapping and got real nice, and I didn’t like that… I’m not the guy to defend my good friend John, especially. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but he constantly highlights me in interviews, as he should. I’m a generational talent. Generational talent recognizes generational talent when they see one.”

In defense of John Cena against Wade Barrett: }Wade was constantly attacking him with multiple people, which again is something your guys do. You never try to do a fight one on one, your friends always get involved drunk, right, so I feel like John was just defending himself and his country in that moment.”

John Cena will begin his farewell tour in January. He will perform several dates in 2025 and retire over the course of next year. In the meantime, MJF will defend his AEW American Championship title against Will Ospreay at AEW All In: London on Sunday, August 25. The event will take place at London’s Wembley Stadium and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
