William Sawalich has won the pole position for today’s ARCA Menards Series race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. It is Sawalich’s sixth pole position in nine national division starts this season.
Sawalich drove a lap of 34.009 seconds, almost a full second faster than second-placed Kelly Kovski.
Taylor Reimer will start third on row two in just her second start in the series. Andres Perez will start fourth.
Kris Wright completes the top five and starts fifth. Lavar Scott will take the green flag alongside Wright on row three and start sixth.
The remaining top 10 starters include Christian Rose, Sean Corr, Amber Balcaen and Alex Clubb in seventh to tenth place.
18 of the 20 drivers needed time in qualifying. Two Venturini Motorsports drivers, Toni Breidinger and Isabella Robusto, were the only drivers who did not complete a lap.
The green flag for this afternoon’s ARCA Springfield 100 at the Springfield Mile is scheduled to drop at 2 p.m. ET and will be televised on FOX Sports 1 and FloRacing.
