Cody Rhodes breaks his silence on a possible match against John Cena during the retirement tour

At the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, John Cena announced his retirement from professional wrestling. While his farewell tour is set to begin next year, Cody Rhodes has made it clear that he would be honored to face Cena during his farewell tour.

In his announcement, John Cena revealed that he will play a role in the transition from WWE RAW to Netflix. He also shared that his final wrestling appearances will be at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025. Instead of a single farewell match, John Cena will embark on a multi-date farewell tour in 2025. His in-ring career is set to end in December 2025.

During a speech at Fanatics Fest, Cody Rhodes was asked if he would like to face Cena on his farewell tour. The American Nightmare put the 16-time World Champion first.

Cody Rhodes then made it more than clear that it would be a great honor for him to face the Leader of Cena in any capacity and called John Cena the “GOAT”.

“It would be a great honor for me to fight John Cena in any capacity. He’s the greatest for a reason.”

John Cena has also confirmed his role in WWE after his retirement. Regardless, we will have to wait and see when John Cena and Cody Rhodes will face each other next year as fans would love to see them in a one-on-one match.
