With Blinkit’s new feature, siblings from these 7 countries can send Rakhis and gifts to India: View full list

Zomato-owned quick commerce service website Blinkit has announced a new feature for Indians living in select countries that will enable them to send gifts to their siblings in India on the festival of Raksha Bandhan on August 19.

Indians residing in the US, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, France and Japan can benefit from the new feature until August 19, Blinkit’s CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced on social media.

“Raksha Bandhan special offer – we have enabled international orders on Blinkit till 19th August. People living abroad can now place orders on Blinkit to send Rakhis and gifts to their siblings in India and we will deliver in 10 minutes! πŸ’›,” Dhindsa added in his post.

Dhindsa often actively responds to queries from Blinkit customers online. While netizens welcomed the new feature, some users expressed concerns about why Australia was not included.

“Why not Australia? @deepigoyal has this amazing feature on @zomato and I regularly order food for my parents in Kolkata when I’m in Melbourne. It makes me feel a little better,” wrote one user.

Dhindsa came to the user’s aid and replied: β€œNow enabled for Australia too.”

Another user from the US also expressed concern about issues in OTP generation for the orders, to which Dhindsa replied, β€œChecking.”

β€œThe use cases continue to grow at an incredible rate,” praised another X user.

Another user commented, “Blinkit. You won boss πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘,” followed by another netizen who said, “Blinkit and Zomato never disappoint their customers :)”

Earlier this year, Dhindsa addressed a similar complaint from a Blinkit customer who was offered free coriander when she bought vegetables online. The customer had posted, “Mommy got a mini heart attack because she had to pay for Dhaniya on Blinkit. @albinder – Mommy suggests you should bundle it with a certain amount of vegetables for free.”

Dhindsa acknowledged the request and replied, “It’s live! Please everyone thank Ankit’s mother. We will refine the feature in the next few weeks.”
