On TikTok, user Miranda Ponce shared a video from her surveillance camera showing the moment an English bulldog appeared in Ponce’s front yard.
When the dog – which she named Chloe – showed up at the 22-year-old’s house a year ago, she didn’t know the puppy’s sad story.
However, because of her cuts and scabs, the rescuer was sure that she “came from a bad place,” she said in an interview with Newsweek.

Ponce took the dog inside and bathed her, noticing how scared Chloe was.
She refused to be picked up and flinched when she moved.
A visit to the vet brought clarity about the situation of dog Chloe
It wasn’t the first time Ponce had taken in a stray dog, so she took Chloe to a vet in the hope of finding her owner. But the vet confirmed her worst suspicions – the 5-year-old bulldog had been repeatedly used for breeding.
According to Ponce, the veterinarian “saw a lot of scar tissue during surgery and said she had bad C-sections from amateur vets. She was probably thrown away because she was no longer able to reproduce.”
Luckily, Chloe found a new home in Ponce!
“Chloe is the most affectionate, loving and gentle soul,” gushed her new owner. “She is the first rescue animal I have kept and I can see how much she is devoted to me compared to my other pets who have only known the pampered life.”
