Corendon ends cooperation with financially troubled Canada Jetlines

Corendon is experiencing financial problems with its partner Canada Jetlines. The travel company had rented two aircraft from this company for flights from Maastricht and Rotterdam airports, but Canada Jetlines has suspended all activities and asked for some kind of payment deferral. Corendon is now renting replacement aircraft for the already scheduled flights from the Dutch airports.

“We will operate the flights as scheduled as possible to limit the inconvenience for our passengers. Starting next week, Corendon Airlines will take over all scheduled flights from Canada Jetlines,” Corendon said on its website. The company assured that this would not lead to flight cancellations or delays. “We were able to find enough capacity to solve this ourselves,” a spokesperson told NU.nl.

Canada Jetlines announced earlier this week that it would “temporarily” cease all operations. The company, which has been flying since 2022, is loss-making and constantly needs new financing.

In April, Corendon announced that it would rent two aircraft from the Canadian airline for several flights this year. Now the tour operator is “forced to end its cooperation with Canada Jetlines prematurely.”
