AHMEDABAD: Thanks to rapid industrialisation and the establishment of manufacturing giants and multinational corporations in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar, bringing with it an influx of professionals, executives and diplomats from across the world, the twin cities seem to have secured their place among the most sought-after markets for major players in the hospitality industry.
Sources with insight into the Development confirmed that Hyatt Hotels Corporation, a major American hotel company, is likely to sign and manage three new properties here. Interestingly, these are all located near the industrial and commercial hubs of Sanand, Changodar and Gandhinagar-Mahudi Road.

The above-mentioned hotels are among the eight new hotels that are set to give the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Ahmedabad a luxurious makeover. Gandhinagar. Other well-known brands such as St. Regis and JW Marriott are also expected to gain a foothold here.
An email query to Hyatt Hotels Corporation remained unanswered. The brand is likely to open another hotel in Gujarat International Finance-Tec (GIFT) City, Gandhinagar, sources privy to the development said.
“With two major investments in semiconductor manufacturing and an already thriving automobile and engineering industry in Sanand, the region is sure to receive further investments. Setting up a hotel in the region would certainly be a plus, given the longer commute time from Ahmedabad to Sanand and Changodar. The industrial development in and around Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, coupled with the establishment of GIFT City and India’s planned Olympic bid is drawing the attention of major hotel companies to the twin cities,” said Narendra Somani, President, Hotels and Restaurants’ Association (HRA) – Gujarat.
Somani also explained how Mahudi Gandhi Road is also witnessing a development in the Hospitality in the sense of wellness properties.
Hospitality companies such as Marriott InternationalITC Hotels Group, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Indian Hotels Company Limited, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts, Accor Hotels and others already have a strong presence in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar.
