German publisher admits to being a Putin supporter ᐉ News from Fakti.bg – World

The publisher of the right-wing extremist political magazine “Compact”, which was recently banned by the German government, attacked the cabinet in Berlin and today announced his support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, the dpa reported, citing BTA.

Jürgen Elzesser received a standing ovation for his speech at an event organized by the right-wing extremist party Alternative for Germany (AzG) in Saxony-Anhalt, eastern Germany.

Elsesser called Interior Minister Nancy Feser a fascist and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius a war criminal. In his opening speech at the AfD party conference, he insulted Green Party leader Ricarda Lang.

“And of course I will not be forbidden to say: I am a supporter of Putin,” Elzesser declared to the applause of the crowd.

Elsesser’s magazine was banned by the German Interior Ministry on July 16 because it had allegedly become a “centre-right extremist mouthpiece.”

But Elzesser recently won a preliminary victory in court because judges expressed doubts about the proportionality of the government’s actions and lifted the ban, at least for the time being.

The decision of the Federal Administrative Court means that the magazine can be published again under certain conditions.

However, the court has not yet made a final decision in this matter.

Elzesser exuded confidence at the AFG Congress in Magdeburg and said his legal success showed that “victory is possible”.

He welcomed the AsG’s seizure of power in the upcoming state elections in Saxony-Anhalt.
