On Sunday 25 August, Sarah Walkerden, Berringa’s own Rural Copywriter and owner of Rural Publishing Company, will take part in a free panel discussion entitled ‘Decoding The Publishing Industry’ at the Geelong Regional Library and Heritage Centre. Also taking part in the discussion will be editor and writing coach Liz Monument, published poet Alex Creece and Victorian Premier’s Award nominated author Abbey Lay. The panel will be chaired by author Jen Kloester.

“Libraries play an increasingly important role in both supporting local creatives and bringing communities together,” said Liz Pattison, Chair of the Geelong Regional Library Corporation.

“The Local Word Writers Festival is a great opportunity for writers and readers from our region to explore their craft, learn from experts, and connect and collaborate with others.”

Writers and readers are encouraged to attend the annual Local Word Fest, taking place at all GRL locations from next Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August, showcasing writers and presenters from across the Geelong region.
