All details about Genshin Influence 5.0, including the new characters, banner structure, Natlan’s story and mechanics, and events, were revealed following the special update livestream. Version 5.0 is the next major patch for developer HoYoverse’s action RPG and will conclude the year of content that began with Fontaine in version 4.0 and usher in an entirely new year that begins in Natlan, the nation of Pyros. After the end of the live stream broadcast on the official Genshin Influence Channel on Twitch, the developer confirmed that Version 5.0 will be available from August 28th. Players in the United States will be able to access the new content starting August 27th due to time zones. However, the newly announced release date for the update confirms that there have been no delays to the planned content and that the game is sticking to its regular six-week schedule. Since the release date is already set, it is highly unlikely that Genshin Influence 5.0 is delayed at the last minute.

Three new Natlan characters will be released in the update

In total, version 5.0 introduces three new playable Natlan characters: Mualani, Kinich and Kachina. Mualani is a 5-star Hydro character who uses a catalyst in battleallowing her normal attacks to deal elemental Hydro damage. Her attack power scales from her HP value and she is considered the main DPS in team compositions. Mualani can summon a shark-shaped mount in battle that increases her movement speed and changes her normal attacks. In addition, this new Natlan character is in Genshin Influence 5.0 also fires missiles at targets she marks by crashing into them with her mount.


Kinich, on the other hand, is a 5-star Dendro DPS who uses a Claymore. Kinich also has a mobility ability that allows him to use a grappling hook, both in and out of combat. In combat, he can use it to reach new heights and charge forward. When used against an enemy, Kinich will latch onto them, turn around, and fire at the target he is connected to. Kachina is a 4-star Geo unit that wields a polearm. Her ability allows her to summon a drill into battle. When placed on the battlefield, it deals periodic AoE Geo damage. When Kachina uses the Drill as a mount, her normal attacks are convertedwhich also deals AoE Geo damage. With her burst, Kachina can summon the Drill and create a field that further increases her already increased movement speed. In terms of banner order, Mualani will be the first new 5-star Natlan character to debut. Mualani will appear in the Phase 1 banners, starting on August 28th and lasting until September 17th. During this time, Mualani’s banner will run alongside an iteration of Kaedehara Kazuha. In addition, both of her signature 5-star weapons can be claimed in the Weapons banner. Version 5.0 also introduces players to the Natlan region. While the Nation of Pyro’s map size is set to expand in future updates, the initial area is already quite large.
