4 Obscure Rules You Didn’t Know About Eating at Disney World

Deciding where to eat at Disney World is hard enough – there are SO many restaurants to choose from!

Columbia Harbour House

We have our favorites, of course, but we also try to branch out and try restaurants we haven’t been to in a while, or sometimes we save up for a really special experience at a more expensive restaurant with table service. As you plan your Disney World trip and are in the process of budgeting for food and planning your dining reservations, here are some things to consider: There are some WEIRD rules regarding food at some places at Disney World.

Age restrictions

Believe it or not, There are some restaurants in Disney World that have age restrictions! But don’t worry: These aren’t any of the area’s fast-food restaurants, nor are they any of the more casual, table-service restaurants.

Takumi-Tei Menu

These age restrictions apply at some of the most expensive and fancy restaurants on Disney World property. You can find them at:

Mr Paul

These age restrictions are simply due to the nature of each of these restaurants. They offer truly fine dining, which also means that many children don’t like what’s on the menu anyway – and these restaurants don’t have a children’s menu.!

Dress code

Similarly Many of these upscale restaurants have a dress code that must be followedUnfortunately, theme park outfits or pool flip-flops are NOT enough here:

  • Victoria & Albert’s: Semi-formal/formal attire that “respects the elegant and opulent aesthetic of the restaurant”
  • Monsieur Paul: Clothes that are clean, neat and in good condition. corresponds to the sophisticated and upscale aesthetics of the restaurant
  • Takumi-Tei: Clean, neat and in good condition clothing. corresponds to the sophisticated and upscale aesthetics of the restaurant

For Monsieur Paul and Takumi-Tei, theme park attire that is not “inappropriate” is probably fine, but a regular t-shirt and shorts may not be enough. It’s a bit difficult to navigate, so if you have room in your bag, maybe bring a nicer shirt, skirt or dress to change into in case your regular clothes aren’t enough.

Time limits

There is a restaurant in Disney World that even has a time limit! Yes, you can only dine here for a certain time and that is due to the limited space in the restaurant! Yes, we are talking about Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge.

Fuzzy Tauntaun in Oga’s Cantina

Oga’s Cantina offers Star Wars fans an extremely intense experience, although it is quite small. While there are a few tables in the bar, there are more standing tables, This means you have a maximum of 45 minutes to spend in the bar.

No. 18 of 21 places to eat in Oga’s capital

We know, we know, that doesn’t sound like a very long time, but There is also a limit of two drinks per person! Two drinks in 45 minutes can seem pretty intense, so take it easy, and if you plan on having both drinks, maybe reserve your drink for later in the evening when the sun isn’t so high in the sky.

Menu

While many restaurants at Disney World use the Disney Dining Plan, there are some that DO NOT! Some of the restaurants that do not accept the Disney Dining Plan include:

To check if the restaurant you want to eat at accepts the Disney Dining Plan, just check the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app!

Room 220

There are also some restaurants that use TWO of your Disney Dining Plan credits instead of just onedue to the popularity of the restaurant. These include:

Hoop Dee Doo!

When planning your Dining Plan credits, it is also important to note that Disney World lounges count as table service credit! So, if you stop by the Nomad Lounge or Dahlia Lounge and decide to redeem a DDP credit there, one will be deducted from your total table service credit.

And in some restaurants, especially the Chicken Guy! in Disney Springs, Your Disney Dining Plan credits are a little shaky, so you’ll want to check in advance. At Chicken Guy!, you can easily order an appetizer and a drink with a Quick Service credit, but a combo meal is NOT included! This side item must be paid for separately.
