With most of the major free agency transfers slated for the 2024 NBA offseason, it’s only natural to look at what the league could expect in the 2025 class. It’ll be hard to top Paul George’s move from the LA Clippers to the Philadelphia 76ers, but there could be plenty of player movement next summer, and it could start with an active free agency class.
As we look ahead to next summer, we take a look at the 20 notable free agents who will power and advance the 2025 NBA offseason.
Jamal Murray has to be included on this list, but it would be extremely surprising if he actually tested free agency. Given his importance to the Denver Nuggets over the past few seasons, they will almost certainly agree to a contract extension. And if I had to bet, I’d bet on the two sides coming together before the season starts to negotiate a new contract.
The last thing the Nuggets need is for this uncertainty surrounding Murray to linger throughout the season and distract the team as it tries to get back on championship track after a surprisingly disappointing end to last year. Murray will be back in a Nuggets uniform, but since the odds of him ending up as a free agent aren’t quite zero, he had to be included on this list.
