ROARING SPRING – For several years, the Nason Hospital Auxiliary has been awarding scholarships to area high school graduates who are pursuing careers in the medical field.

The scholarship was created in the hope that the aid organization could provide financial support to qualified students.

The charity asks its members for donations for

the cost of the scholarships.

This year, a $500 scholarship was awarded to two local students: Laney Yost of Altoona Area High School, who will attend the University of Pittsburgh to study biology/medicine, and Mary Grill of Central High School in Martinsburg, who will study nursing at Mount Aloysius College in Cresson.

Prospective high school graduates should contact their academic advisor next spring to find out more about the scholarship.
