Gunna shows her love to Young Thug on his 33rd birthday.

On Friday (August 16), Young Thug celebrates his 33rd birthday. Presumably to celebrate this special moment, Gunna shared photos of the two in better times in his Instagram stories. Given the circumstances, the snapshots are certainly bittersweet – the imprisoned Thug has been fighting for his freedom since 2022.

In April, Gunna spoke with XXL about his relationship with the Young Stoner Life founder. “It’s always the same. It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship,” he told the publication. He was also asked about the high-profile RICO case in Georgia and the impact it had on his life. “It did a lot. It really had a big impact on my career,” he revealed. “As far as shows, dates, and the impact of everything we had planned for releases and albums, it had a big impact on that, just because everything was getting so much buzz. But it’s like, it’s still going on, you know? So I’m in the thick of it all right now.”

Gunna continued, “I definitely feel like everyone has been misled. And when you’re misled, you have a choice to follow or make your own decisions. And that’s what’s showing up right now. You’re either a follower or you’re neutral and say, ‘I don’t know what they’re up to or what they’re really up to.'”

Despite the setbacks, Gunna has remained at the forefront of his generation from a musical perspective. In 2023, he released his fourth studio LP, a Gift and cursewhich contained 15 songs and zero features. The album was a hit with critics and entered the Billboard 200 at number 3. Last May, he continued his success with One of Wuncomplete with notable contributions from Roddy Ricch, Leon Bridges, Normani and Offset. One of Wun was a major commercial success, with 91,000 album equivalents sold and a position at number 2 in the above charts after its first week.
