Ethan Davis has the potential to be explosive in Tennessee’s tight end room

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – At 6’5” and over 230 pounds, Ethan Davis is an imposing figure.

He made a splash as a true freshman at Tennessee’s Orange & White game, but fell behind Jacob Warren and McCallan Castles, both of whom earned a chance at NFL training camp after their careers at Tennessee.

After playing in just three games last season, Davis is poised to play a major role in a promising tight end room that also includes Notre Dame transfer Holden Staes and Alabama transfer Miles Kitselman.

“I really love football,” Davis said. “I love being here, I love playing every single day, I love giving everything I have for Tennessee.”

Before Davis got the opportunity to play football in the SEC, he had the chance to play basketball in the conference. A former Power 6 basketball recruit, Davis had basketball offers from Georgia and Ole Miss before turning his attention to football.

“I love basketball and had to earn that love for football. I feel like I’ve come a long way since my junior year of high school,” Davis said.

His teammates noticed this love.

“Ethan is a different breed,” admits Miles Kitselman. “He’s probably gained 10 to 15 pounds, but he hasn’t lost any weight, and I’m very jealous.”

In addition to his love of football, Davis has discovered a new love for cooking and added a minor in culinary arts to his studies at Tennessee.
