Bad news for fans of spooky decorations and kids still looking for a costume for trick-or-treating: It looks like Spirit Halloween isn’t coming to Bloomington this year.
Spirit Halloween, the seasonal Halloween store that pops up in empty storefronts across the country in late summer and early fall, doesn’t list Bloomington as an Indiana location on its website and doesn’t appear to be opening a pop-up shop this year. Last year, the store was in the former Bed Bath & Beyond by College Mall, but that’s on track to become a Dave & Buster’s.
Alternative options for costumes and Halloween decorations are few. Bloomington’s only other costume shop is Party City at 2817 E. 3rd St., as Campus Costume on 10th Street closed a few years ago.
If you want to purchase your next Halloween costume and home decoration in person, you may have to drive to a neighboring town.
