When Airbnb host Amanda rented out her cozy home to a group of young women for a 21st birthday weekend, she was a little apprehensive.
She had armed herself with countless stories of wild parties and property damage at vacation rentals. But when she returned to the property in Arkansas, the situation could not have been more different.
Not only was their home immaculate, the four guests had also gone to extra lengths by color-coding their entire bookshelves.
“I’ve been hosting on Airbnb for a year and have been lucky enough to have some really great guests. But you just never know what to expect, especially when you hear horror stories about parties and property damage,” said Amanda, who did not reveal her last name, Newsweek.
“After they checked out, I was so happy with how clean the house was,” she said. “And then I noticed the books. I thought, ‘That must have taken a while!’ It was such a thoughtful and unexpected surprise.”

Amanda was so excited about the tidy bookshelf that she decided to share it with the world. “I knew other people would probably like it, so I pulled out my phone and made a video to share on TikTok,” she said.
The video quickly gained attention and was viewed over 400,000 times and received hundreds of comments from people who were impressed by the guests’ actions.
It turned out that the group of young women who had rented their Airbnb were not just any guests – they were teachers celebrating a birthday weekend away.
“I’m so glad they enjoyed the house and took the time to organize the books. I would welcome them back for a free stay anytime they want to come back,” said the delighted host.
People online were thrilled by the gesture of organizing books and immediately shared their reactions with us in the comments.
