Now, the actress is finally back on track with her eating habits and mental health. As a result, Collins serves as a major beauty inspiration for women and now preaches proper nutrition and workout plans.

Known for her role in Emily in Paris, Lily Collins gained immense popularity and widespread admiration for her elegant style and flawless physique. Reflecting on her journey, Collins published her memoir in 2017: Unfiltered: No shame, no regrets, just me.

Excerpts from her memoirs shared by PEOPLE The magazine highlighted that her road to recovery was paved by years of battling an eating disorder. According to Lily Collins, her bittersweet relationship with food and her body began when she was 16 and her parents split up. Unable to cope with the stress, the actress admitted she had a tumultuous relationship with food and her body image.

I couldn’t handle the pain and confusion surrounding my father’s divorce, and I was struggling to balance my teenage life with two different adult careers – both of my own choosing, but both of which also focused heavily on my appearance… Eating was no longer a fun social event, but a chore and punishment. I was exhausted, nervous, and cranky all the time. I was certainly not much fun.

But my plan worked! I had everything under control! I was thin! Not only did the starvation, diet pills, laxatives and vomiting drain me of all my energy, but my body started to fail. My hair and nails lost their shine and became brittle. My throat burned and my esophagus hurt. I stopped having my period for a couple of years and I was terrified that I had ruined my chances of having children.

After her eating disorders began in her teens and continued into adulthood, Lily Collins opened up about the severe impact it had on her health. Collins spoke openly about her experiences, revealing the emotional and physical toll of her struggle. Explaining that her eating disorder was not only severely affecting her physical health, but also her mental wellbeing, the actress realised a change was needed.

After an unhealthy relationship with her food and body image when Lily Collins suffered a health scare, the actress admitted to having learned her lesson and embarked on a transformative journey towards self-love and acceptance. I have been in therapy for years and I feel like I am slowly getting to the root of why I allowed these dark thoughts to dictate my life, what I ate or didn’t eat, and what restrictions I imposed on myself.

Now, Lily Collins has started working with health professionals, including therapists and nutritionists, to develop a healthier relationship with food and her body. She also speaks openly about her experiences and uses her platform to inspire others who are facing similar issues. I eat healthily. I love chicken, fish and vegetables, as well as grains like quinoa, but I don’t eat red meat. I avoid processed foods. I eat farm-raised food. Growing up in the English countryside, it was a way of life, not a trend. When I go out with friends, I also treat myself to dessert now and then. But on a daily basis, I want to give my body what it needs to be the best version of myself.

I’m not gluten-free or vegan, but I love to bake because I get a sense of accomplishment from creating something delicious and healthy. I bake everything from donuts to birthday cakes to banana walnut bread.

According to Lily Collins’ interview with Harper’s Bazaar, The actress shared details about her daily routine and diet. Collins started her morning with a glass of water with lemon and claimed to prepare porridge and fruit for breakfast. For lunch, the actress mentioned that she enjoyed salmon or chicken, salad and quinoa. Collins also claimed to have swapped coffee for tea.

When Lily Collins was asked about her dinner routine, she admitted that she eats out as she doesn’t like to cook. Reflecting on her workout routine, the actress noted that she focuses more on “Strengthening and firming” by selecting “Isometrics and ballet movements“. Collins claims that she is a firm believer in moving her body daily and admitted that she does not have a specific fitness routine but instead focuses on staying active daily.
