John Cena reacts to WBD cancelling Coyote vs. Acme

John Cena breaks his silence for the first time regarding the cancellation of his film by Warner Bros Discovery. Coyote vs Acme Film.

WWE Superstar John Cena recently spoke with The Wrap on the red carpet of his new film, jackpot. When asked about the decision to put his live-action Looney Tunes film on hold Coyote vs AcmeCena said he thought they made a good movie, but he realized the film was not his property.

“There’s a lot to it. And everyone has a different perspective. We don’t own the movie,” John Cena said. “That’s the hard thing about this business, you have a sense of ownership because you put your heart and soul into it. And (director) Dave Green and everyone involved made a movie that we thought was good.”

Cena added that while he would have liked to give the film a chance, he believes the release was put on hold for the right reasons.

“I would have loved to see it if it had been given a chance. But I’m only one person,” John Cena continued. “And if it was put on hold, I would have to think it was put on hold for the right reasons and it was a good business decision.”

“I think I would be very regretful and ashamed if I looked back at the legacy of the film and it was put on hold for other reasons. So I have to believe in the process. And I love the film. I’m in it with all my heart, but it’s someone else’s project and you can do whatever you want with it and you’ve chosen accordingly.”
