Indulge in Maryland seafood and win prizes

ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 15, 2024)Maryland’s Besta marketing program of Maryland Department of Agriculturehas published the Maryland’s Best Seafood, Eat Pass. Consumers who sign up for the pass can use it to explore restaurants in Maryland that serve fresh and local seafood.

“Maryland is known for its blue crabs, but we now have many other local seafood options, such as bass, farmed oysters, wild Chesapeake Blue Catfish,” said Kevin Atticks, Secretary of Agriculture of the US state of Maryland. “I invite Maryland residents and visitors to download the app and explore the state in a culinary way.”

The pass was developed in collaboration with Bandwangoaims to promote the consumption of fresh Maryland seafood. Consumers can register MarylandsBest.net and follow the instructions to download the web-based platform. Once there, simply select a restaurant from the list or a seafood event, log into the platform and start earning points to win prizes including seafood, an Eat Food cutlery set, a water bottle or a t-shirt that says “Shuck Yeah, I ate Maryland Seafood.”

“Not only are you enjoying delicious seafood from Maryland’s waterways, but you are also supporting local jobs and the economy by making sure you eat local,” said Stephanie Pazzaglia, Chair of the Maryland Seafood Marketing Commission.

Additionally, some participating restaurants may offer special offers that you can redeem and use to earn points toward rewards. Enjoy your summer of Maryland seafood and feel good knowing you’re supporting local fishermen and getting the freshest Maryland seafood around!
