CV NEWS FEED // Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has reportedly offered to negotiate a deal with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in which he will drop out of the race and support her in exchange for a position in her potential administration.
Kennedy immediately dismissed the reports as “fake news” and issued a sharp rebuke of Harris’ candidacy and the Democratic Party. Kennedy was a lifelong member of the party until last October.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday evening that Harris’ campaign team “neither responded with an offer of a meeting nor expressed interest in (Kennedy’s) proposal.”
According to the Post, Kennedy met with President Donald Trump in Milwaukee last month “to discuss a similar policy role and support, but no agreement was reached.”
“In these conversations, Kennedy spoke of advising Trump on health and medical issues in a second term,” said the post clarified.
On Thursday morning, Kennedy posted a long message on X (formerly Twitter) denouncing Harris and the 2024 Democrats, likely in response to the postReport from the previous evening.
“I have no plans to support Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate,” he stressed. “I have a plan to defeat her.”
“Vice President Harris’ Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and my uncle, and I cannot reconcile it with my values,” Kennedy wrote, referring to the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy and President John F. Kennedy.
“The Democratic Party of RFK and JFK was the party of civil liberties and free speech,” he continued:
Vice President Harris is the party of censorship, curfews and medical coercion.
Kennedy’s Democrats were against the war. Kamala’s Democrats are riddled with neoconservative warmongers.
The RFK/JFK Democrats were allies of Main Street, police officers, firefighters, and workers. Vice President Harris is the party of Big Tech, pharmaceuticals, and Wall Street.
“The party of my father and my uncle was the champion of voting rights and fair elections,” Kennedy added. “Vice President Harris’ party is the party of lawfare, disenfranchisement and the coronation of its candidates by corporate donors and party elites.”

His post went on to examine Harris’ controversial crime record and her recent media avoidance:
I have used our nation’s courts to prosecute corporations that harm Black Americans. Vice President Harris has used our nation’s courts to relentlessly prosecute Black Americans and exploit them for their labor.
My father and uncle prided themselves on their debate skills and their ability to articulate a coherent vision for our country. Vice President Harris is terrified of debate and can’t get through an unscripted interview.
“Instead of outlining a vision, (Harris) relies on middle school tactics,” Kennedy continued, “memes, fake headlines, infantile slogans (joy!) and name-calling (‘Republicans are weird.’)”
“I have spent years fighting against corruption and lies in government,” he concluded. “Vice President Harris spent years misleading Americans about the health of our Commander in Chief (President Joe Biden).”
