John Cena comments on the cancellation of “Coyote vs. Acme”

Peacemaker Star John Cena is one of the main stars of Coyote vs AcmeThe Looney Tunes Franchise film that was shelved before its release – even though it was already completed. Although Cena would have loved for audiences to see the film, he said he had to keep telling himself that the decision was best for business because that was the only way he could understand it.

Cena opened the Coyote vs Acme situation in a new interview with TheWrap. He pointed out that sometimes it can be difficult to walk away from film and television projects after investing so much in them personally, but at the same time, he is not the one who owns the rights. It all comes down to making the best business decision for the project, so while Cena and others believe Coyote vs Acme is a great film, he does not rule out that cancelling the film might still have been the best decision for those in charge at Warner Bros. Discovery.

“The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie” finally finds a distributor after being put on hold during Warner Bros. Discovery’s restructuring.

“There’s a lot. And everyone has a different perspective,” he said. “We don’t own the film. That’s the hard thing about this business, you have a sense of ownership because you put your heart and soul into it… And (director) Dave Green and everyone involved, we thought we had made a good film. (But) that’s the film business.”

Cena continued: “I would have loved to see it if it had been given a chance. But I’m only one person. And if it was put on ice, I have to assume that it was put on hold for the right reasons and that it was a good business decision.“I think I would feel great regret and shame if I looked back at the legacy of the film and it had been shelved for other reasons.”
