Old Forester announces 2024 Bourbon Anniversary Edition

Old Forester announced the highly anticipated return of its most sought-after bourbon: Birthday Bourbon.

This year, the bourbon is 12 years old and 107 proof – and consumers can earn the chance to purchase this rare bottle through a national sweepstakes.

The liquid came from a total of 209 barrels and was hand-picked by Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris and Master Taster Melissa Rift with the assistance of Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo.

“Twelve years of aging in the G and L warehouses have produced a rich and unique flavor profile that is perfect for this coveted annual release,” Trigo said in a press release.

Old Forester releases the limited edition vintage-dated bottle every year on September 2nd to celebrate the birthday of brand founder George Garvin Brown. (Please note: There will be NO birthday bourbon sold at the distillery on September 2nd.)

Fans across the country have the opportunity to take part in this year’s birthday celebrations.

Old Forester Birthday Bourbon will be available through an online sweepstakes running from August 15-21, 2024 on OldForester.com. Anyone who is entered for a chance to purchase a bottle through the sweepstakes must purchase and pick up the bottle at Old Forester Distillery in Louisville between September 5, 2024 and December 14, 2024 (see Official Rules for full terms and conditions).. The suggested retail price for each bottle of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is $199.99. Limit one bottle per customer per credit card.

“There is no better way to celebrate our founder and our long history than by getting our rarest variety into the hands of bourbon lovers across the country,” said Rift.

The annual edition of Birthday Bourbon is also sold in retail stores nationwide.
