Potholes appear everywhere earlier than usual
An early taste of pothole season means that road repairs have begun in many areas.
A Detroit man was eating chicken wings on Wednesday when he crashed what was probably the worst car he could drive – a police patrol car.
A 73-year-old man attempted to eat chicken wings while driving south on the John C. Lodge Freeway Service Drive at West Grand Boulevard around 3:15 p.m., according to a Michigan State Police Twitter post Wednesday.
A police officer was stopped in the left center lane at a red light and hit by the man, police said.
The man had eaten chicken wings, confirmed First Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police.
No one was injured and there was only minor damage to the vehicle, police said.
The police issued a report to the driver for the incident.

Such distracted driving is risky behavior that leads to avoidable accidents, Shaw said in a statement in the social media post. He also said it was fortunate that no one was injured.
“It’s important to concentrate on driving while behind the wheel,” Shaw said.
