Video shows crash of a passenger plane with 62 people on board in Brazil

A passenger plane with 62 people on board crashed in Brazil. All passengers are presumed dead.

In a translated statement posted on Facebook, VoePass said the plane, bound for Guarulhos Airport, crashed in Vinhedo, São Paulo, on Friday, August 9, after taking off from Cascavel, Parana, with 58 passengers and four crew members.

At a press conference, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that 58 passengers and four crew members were on board the plane when it crashed in the city of Vinhedo. USA Today and Sky News.

Images from Brazilian television station GloboNews show the plane on fire near what looks like a residential building.

In a translated bulletin, São Paulo government officials said emergency services arrived in the Capela neighborhood of Vinhedo at around 1 p.m. local time.

Several teams have been mobilized to rescue survivors, while some are responsible for recovering the remains of the dead, they added.

In addition, teams from Unicamp Clinical Hospital and Sumaré State Hospital are ready to care for any crash patients referred to them.

Governor Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas returns to São Paulo following the news from Vitória and plans to visit Vinhedo to follow the reaction.

“VoePass has taken all measures to support those involved,” VoePass added. “There is still no confirmation as to how the accident occurred or how the people on board are doing.”

A message on the airline’s website states that a hotline is available for relatives of passengers to find out more about the crash.
