How to watch President Nelson’s 100th birthday celebration

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites everyone to watch a special birthday broadcast honoring Church President Russell M. Nelson on Monday, September 9, 2024—his 100th birthday.th Birthday – at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.

On June 1, President Nelson invited people to celebrate his 100th birthday.th birthday by helping “the one” in need, as the Savior did, drawing on His teachings in the parable of the lost sheep (see Matthew 18 and Luke 15). In the parable, the Savior encouraged His followers to help others in need, just as a caring shepherd would help his sheep—to look beyond the 99 to help the one lost in the flock. President Nelson encouraged people to share their experiences on social media using #99+1. …

In an August 9 letter announcing the event, President Hollande wrote: “How grateful we are for a prophet of God, for his inspired teachings, and for his invitation to follow the Savior’s example of love and righteousness in all that we do.”

The 75-minute broadcast on September 9 will celebrate the life and teachings of this latter-day prophet, whose life and ministry continue to demonstrate God’s love for each of His children. Examples of what people around the world have done to celebrate his birthday during the past 100 days will be shared through stories of people who were “the ones.”
