“We wanted to create an open, light-filled space that feels both spacious and intimate,” reveal the designers, who were inspired by a greenhouse. Three concepts form the core of the design here – abundant natural light, a strong connection to the outside world and different but harmonious zones within the store that encourage a spirit of discovery.

Six side-by-side and carefully designed greenhouses are arranged along the perimeter in an elegant L-shaped layout, maximizing light and greenery views. Open walkways meander through the store, making it easy to find your way around, as every corner features carefully selected houseplants, pots, sculptures and decorative pieces from around the world. A mesmerizing light installation by Oorjaa takes pride of place above the cash register. Crafted from a mix of lantana, fiber and paper, the installation’s organic beauty underscores Beruru’s overarching nature-inspired aesthetic. Along the walkways, lantana panels facilitate orientation and wayfinding while reinforcing the earthy color palette that draws on natural elements to emphasize the connection to nature.

Passing through the final greenhouse, a tranquil courtyard is revealed, creating a pause in the narrative. At the heart of the space stands a majestic poplar tree, an ode to a life inspired by nature, which, together with the collection of outdoor planters and sculptures, creates an atmosphere that invites you to linger and explore. “When customers come in, they should be able to visualize the products in their own homes and gardens through our curated display sets,” says Amritha.

Combining glass, granite and metal, strategically placed glasshouses are created that maximize natural light while minimizing heat buildup to ensure thermal comfort, structural integrity and weather resistance in all seasons.
