SLC Arts Council allocates 0,000 for programs and projects in the North Country

POTSDAM, New York (WWNY) – $160,000 is available for arts programs in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.

The SLC Arts Council has announced that its 2025 grant cycle will begin on Thursday, August 15, and the application deadline will be October 30, 2024.

According to the SLC Arts Council, grants are available to individual artists, 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, government agencies, tribal nations and unincorporated collectives.

The Council offers three types of grants through the New York State Council on the Arts’ Statewide Community Regrants Program.

  • Individual art scholarship – Funds the creation of new works for the community through a public program, such as an exhibition or public performance, and/or allows the community to participate in the process. Amount: $3,000.
  • Scholarship for artistic training – Funds research into art in a learning environment. Amount: $500-$5,000.
  • Community Art Scholarship – Funds public arts experiences and community activities such as workshops, classes, festivals, film screenings, readings, and more. Amount: $500 – $5,000.
