Diane Keaton is known for her iconic personal style and long-standing love of interior design. Of course, she’s incorporating both into a new decor collection!

The Book Club The 78-year-old actress has teamed up with Hudson Grace for the brand’s first collaboration. The line includes decor, kitchenware and pet accessories and is a perfect fit for Keaton, who has had an eye for interior design for years – she has published a book on the subject and shared several of her own homes.

“The collection is timeless,” Keaton tells PEOPLE. “The pieces have no specific design and are made for those who love family, friends and, most importantly, furry friends!”

And there’s one pup Keaton had in mind during the creative process: her golden retriever, Reggie. When asked about her favorite part of the homewares line, she admits, “I have to say, all the dog stuff… because of Reggie.”

“Dog beds, biscuits, the dog bowls, even the doorstop. It comes first,” she says. “But between you and me, I love everything else. I love the casual California Chic linen bedding. It’s easy and Reggie can jump around on the bed too!”

The Family stone The star’s other highlights include the “woody and earthy” candle she created with the brand. “It’s perfect,” she says.

Perhaps one of the most iconic elements of the line is the special shade of red that Hudson Grace created for certain more eye-catching items – a departure from Keaton’s usual, entirely neutral color palette.

“I love the fact that there’s a pop of color: Keaton Red! I guess I’m known for my love of black and white and this might surprise you,” she jokes to PEOPLE. “Have you seen the fire bucket? Pure genius if you ask me.”

The playful yet subtle touches in Keaton’s style come from Monelle Totah, co-founder of Hudson Grace.

“Fortunately, I got lucky with Monelle. She understands design and, most importantly, she understands the aesthetic that I love,” says Keaton. “Believe me when I say I would have every one of these pieces in my home.”

Totah tells PEOPLE that she and the Oscar winner became “fast friends” when the star stopped by her Brentwood store years ago to buy bowls and dish soap.

“It was then that we realized she shared the same appreciation for inspiring spaces and timeless designs. For our very first product collaboration, we wanted to work with someone who had the same eclectic, witty style as Hudson Grace,” Totah tells PEOPLE. “There is no one who could define our iconic aesthetic better than Diane Keaton!”

Some of her favorite pieces from the collaboration overlap with Keaton’s.

“Our HOUSE candle – not only is it beautiful, but it has a wonderful scent made especially for Diane with notes of cardamom, blue sage, olive tree bark and vetiver,” she says. “I’m also excited to expand our bedding category to include a washed linen collection with woven gingham check bedding sets that can be mixed and matched in any way you like.”

Above all, says Totah, the Powerhouse team wanted the collection to be fun and accessible at the same time, and to capture the “playful irreverence” of The father of the bride the star’s own home.

“The striking black and white colors in Diane’s home are a hallmark of this collection and add a modern touch to pieces that you can use in your home for years to come,” she says. “We wanted a fun pop of color throughout the collection, so we created the shade ‘Keaton Red’ based on the red found throughout the neutral color palette in Diane’s home.”

Totah, who reveals that Hudson Grace has been working with Keaton on the project for over a year, says the collection embodies Keaton’s “feel for modern classics.”

The collection is intended for everyone who loves their home and enjoys entertaining guests in a simple way, but is also not afraid to set the table or make the bed with a pinch of humor,” she says.
