Smoke will continue to swirl through New England over the next few days as we watch for storms to flare up this afternoon.

Coverage seemed sparse in many of Wednesday’s forecasts, but since last night the number of possible storms has increased. With that in mind, we’re expecting a lot of impacts on Thursday, with some locations being hit by heavy rain and possibly small hail in some of the stronger storms.

If there is hail, that means there could be strong winds as well. Keep an eye on the skies after midday Thursday for any threatening weather.

There will be a break in the weather on Friday and Saturday before it picks up again on Sunday afternoon. While there will be no downpours, there is certainly a chance of some downpours or showers.

Monday looks to be a really wet day, with numerous showers and steady rain as a slow-moving front begins its journey across New England.

Ernesto is targeting Bermuda this weekend. As it moves across the western Atlantic, large waves will approach our shores through Friday. Rough surf and rip currents are expected on the beaches this weekend.

Be aware of any closures and remain cautious.
