The legendary Labor Day weekend benefit art sale returns to the Cornwall Library this year, celebrating the sixth anniversary of this hugely popular fundraiser.
Sales times:
– Friday, August 30th, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., including a cocktail reception.
— Saturday, August 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
— Sunday, September 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
— Last day: Labor Day, September 2, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The artwork ranges from antique to contemporary, from bright and colorful to classic black and white, from realistic to abstract. The range of media includes prints, watercolors, posters, photographs and paintings, and the occasional small three-dimensional work. All work is documented where possible and offered at very reasonable prices, starting at $25 and going into the tens of thousands.
As works are purchased, new pieces will take their place, refreshing the exhibition each day. Come and look for a treasure, a gift or something to liven up your walls – there’s something here for everyone.
Every work on sale is a donation to support the library’s book and media collection and its extensive programme available to the people of Cornwall and beyond throughout the year – live and via Zoom. Cornwall Library is a free library; its core book lending programme is complemented by educational events for children and adults, information services, art exhibitions, literary events and a wide range of other activities and community services.
The library relies on private contributions and grants to support its programs; all donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please note that art donations are welcome and tax deductible through mid-August. To donate, please contact the library at 860-672-6874.
