Every year, Breck Epic mountain bike race week is an exciting event for the town of Breckenridge.
As people travel from across the country and the world to attend or watch the event each August, there is a lively atmosphere in downtown Breckenridge.
To keep the energy high after the completion of Stage 3 of the Breck Epic on Tuesday, August 13, the Breckenridge Recreation Department hosted the “Send It: Intergalactic Pond Crossing” contest behind Ollie’s Pub & Grub.
Similar to a spring pond ski, the teen and adult contestants rode their bikes down a floating runway before diving into the cool water behind Ollie’s Pub & Grub. Since it rained during the first half of the competition, the contestants were judged by the “Send It” judges on the best tumble and fall. The winner received a $50 gift card to the “Sent It” store.
